Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana French Toast Recipe

Peanut butter, Banana, French toast

Classic French Toast Recipe

My kids love this classic French toast recipe! Bread, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a little bit of nutmeg…so delicious! This recipe is very easy to make for a sweet and/or savory weekend breakfast.

What Bread to Use?

Challah or brioche are the best bread options. Both loaves of bread taste very similar. The only difference is that challah bread is a Jewish/Kosher bread, so it does not contain any dairy while brioche bread is made with butter.

Endless Possibilities

The best things about French toast are the endless possibilities with all the different toppings you can add. You can do anything from plain butter and maple syrup to chocolate syrup and whipped cream. You can make it as savory or as sweet as you would like depending on your mood or what you have in the refrigerator.

Sweet Options

Some great options for decadent recipes include chocolate sauce, peanut butter, and bananas. If looking for something lighter you can add fresh fruit, whipped cream, and some golden syrup. Whipped cream and strawberries are almost like having a strawberry shortcake for breakfast…Yum!

Savory Options

A great option will be to make it into a breakfast sandwich with ham and Swiss cheese. You could also add some bacon and cheddar cheese. Another great alternative would be adding your favorite sausage patty to this French toast.

Toppings

Peanut butter in a bowl, sliced bananas in a bowl, and ghiraldelli chocolate sauce.

We decided to use an all-time classic combination of peanut butter and chocolate. We added banana to complement the flavors and whipped cream to balance this recipe sweet recipe.

Leftovers

If you have some leftovers. You can store them in the fridge in an airtight container for a couple of days. For best results, reheat them in the toaster oven or a regular oven on a cookie sheet for the best results.
