Juiciest And Flavorful Turkey Burger

Who doesn’t enjoy delicious homemade burgers? One healthy alternative to ground beef burgers is turkey burgers. With our recipe, the turkey burgers will have all the great taste and flavors of traditional ground beef burgers without losing the all flavor or texture.

We added some of your classic favorite burger toppings with a healthy twist to create a delicious burger. Adding a little avocado provides good fats that we all need. Adding some cucumber and spinach is another great way to add nutrients and texture. This is a great recipe because it uses all the natural flavors of the ingredients to create a tasty turkey burger.

Make Ahead And Enjoy…

These are a family favorite in our house. With simple ingredients, it’s a great recipe to make ahead of time. You can make raw patties and place them in an airtight container the night before. It is a great way to feed the family in a rush on busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • Ground turkey meat (Lean ground turkey breast and Dark meat ground turkey)
  • Garlic cloves or minced garlic
  • Red Onion
  • Cilantro or Parsley
  • Mrs. Dash Onion and Herbs, onion powder or you favorite seasonings
  • Paprika
  • Chipotle garlic
  • Smoked paprika
  • Cumin
  • Oregano
  • Salt
  • Eggs
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Boars Head chipotle smoked gouda or your favorite sliced cheese
  • French bread or brioche buns

Directions 

  1. In a large bowl combine ground turkey meat with minced garlic, chopped red onion, and chopped cilantro or parsley.

2. Add Mrs. Dash’s Onion and herb, chipotle garlic, smoked paprika, cumin and oregano to the turkey ground meat in the bowl.

3. Add 2 eggs and 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce.

4. Mix together with your hands and shape into a patty around 1/2 inch thick and about the size of your palm and set aside on a separate plate.

5. Turn on the stove to medium-high heat and add olive oil until hot.

6. Place raw turkey patties in the pan.

7. Pan/fry in a medium skillet, or cast iron skillet until lightly browned. Approximately 3 min. Then flip the turkey burger and cook for another 3 min or so.

8. The best way to check the meat temperature is by using a meat thermometer. Once the internal temperature reaches 165 the turkey burger is done. Place a slice of cheese on top of the turkey burger and remove it from the heat.

9.  Slice the burger bun and toast on in the toaster oven or regular oven. Add your favorite Mayo (we like Dukes) to the bottom bun. Quarter and thinly slice cucumbers and place on top of mayo bun. Place spinach on top of cucumbers.

10. Place the turkey burger on top of the spinach. Place tomato on top of turkey burger.

11. Slice the avocado down the middle. Place avocado on cutting board and slice avocado horizontally. Scoop out with a spoon and place on top of the tomato.

10. Add mayo to the top bun and place it on top of the avocado.

11. Enjoy your turkey burger with sweet potato fries, tots, chips, or your favorite side.

Notes

If you don’t have Worcestershire sauce you can substitute soy sauce.

Add dijon mustard for a little extra tanginess.

A great tip for storing your premade raw patties would be to put parchment paper between patties to prevent them from sticking.
